The Story
During the height of COVID, a few friends swapped songs that reminded them of life’s important moments. Over time, this simple - using music to rebuild our connective tissue - became the Come Together Music Project.
Music has a power all its own. Music can help us deepen existing relationships and create new ones. Music helps us bride socio-economic, political, and generational divides.

In an increasingly polarized world, music helps us humanize one another and reestablish trust.

Each Come Together Music session features guests who bring their song selections in response to a series of prompts. As we listen to the music and share the stories behind the choices, the walls between us inevitably begin to crumble.

We aim to show audiences how music can be used to deepen connection.

The Come Together Music Project was founded by Shaka Mitchell and is a registered, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
